Celebrating its centennial year, the Caldwell Night Rodeo stands as a testament to rodeo excellence in Canyon County. Welcoming over 50,000 enthusiasts across five thrilling nights, it is acclaimed as one of the nation’s Top 20 Professional Rodeos and also ranks within the Top 5 Large Outdoor Rodeos. A long-standing family tradition, our current arena is at maximum capacity, selling out every night. In addition, to plan for the next 100 years, it’s time to upgrade and expand our facility.

Our conversations revealed strong support for the proposed projects. Those interviewed agreed that the projects are needed and desired for the future of CNR, and that the corporate and donor support exists to make them happen. Based on our interviews and leader conversations we believe that Caldwell Night Rodeo has the capacity and community support to launch a major campaign in the range of $7.5M.

Mayor Jarom Wagoner said he fondly remembers attending the rodeo as a child, including working at the rotary booths. “It’s just great memories for me, and I love it,” Wagoner said, “and now I’m making those memories with my sons.” Wagoner said city staff were interested in using the city’s fund balance on something to “enhance the community” and “gives back to the city economically.” In special thanks to the Caldwell City Council, a $1.6 million match has been approved to fund improvements at our nonprofit rodeo. The resolution was passed unanimously and construction will begin October 1, 2024.
